At Shire Counseling and Coaching, we strive to make the billing process as transparent as possible. Please review the following policies regarding insurance and payment:

Your Responsibilities

• Insurance Verification: It is your responsibility to ensure that Shire Counseling and Coaching—and your specific provider—are "in-network" with your insurance plan prior to your appointment.
• Insurance Coverage: It is your responsibility to educate yourself on the details      of your specific plans and coverage, we suggest you contact your insurer      directly to inquire about benefit coverage. 
• Out-of-Network Options: If we are out-of-network with your provider, you may request a Super Bill to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan’s benefits.
• Self-Pay Clients: If you are not using insurance, payment is expected in full at the time of service.

Our Billing Practices

• Timing of Payment: We collect payment at the time of service.
• In-Network Claims: If you are using in-network benefits, we will process your      claims as usual. Once the claim has been adjudicated by your insurance, any remaining balance (such as co-insurance or unmet deductibles) becomes the responsibility of the client.

Denied Claims

Should a claim be denied due to inactive insurance, termination of coverage, or out-of-network status, the client is responsible for the full balance due. We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly if you are uncertain about your current coverage status.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We understand that life can be unpredictable. However, when you schedule an appointment, that time is reserved exclusively for you. To ensure we can provide the best care to all our clients, we adhere to the following policy:

The 24-Hour Rule

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us enough time to offer the opening to another client who may be waiting for services.

Fees

Late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice) or "No-Shows" (missing an appointment without notice) will result in a flat fee of $[Insert Amount].

• Insurance Coverage: Please note that insurance companies do not reimburse      for missed appointment fees; this will be a direct out-of-pocket expense.
• Emergency Exceptions: We recognize that true emergencies happen. Exceptions may      be made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of your provider

Frequent Cancellations

Consistency is key to the therapeutic or coaching process. Frequent cancellations may result in the loss of your recurring time slot or termination of services.
